Veneers

What are dental veneers?

Veneers help re-create the appearance of your natural teeth with a thin layer of porcelain. Each veneer is custom-made to fit your individual teeth to ensure flawless results. Then, our dentist bonds the veneers to your current teeth. Veneers cover blemishes like gaps, stains, cracks, or misshapen teeth. In addition, they help reinforce weak teeth.

Veneers can be constructed out of resin composite materials, but porcelain is the most stain-resistant material. Porcelain tends to do a better job replicating the look of your natural teeth enamel, too. The doctor explains your options and recommends the best type of veneers for your specific needs.

What is the process for getting veneers?

After an initial consultation to discuss the type of veneers that are best for your teeth and the results you hope to achieve, you come back for a second appointment. The Doctor then removes a tiny layer of enamel from the surface of your existing teeth to make sure the veneers bond and fit properly. After your teeth are ready, he takes a mold of your teeth to create your individualized veneers in the dental lab.

You come back to have the finished veneers fitted to each tooth. To prepare your teeth for the bonding process, the Doctor cleans and etches the surface of your teeth. He then uses a specialized cement and light source that bonds the cement securely to the porcelain. In no time your veneers are permanently in place, and you have a new and improved smile!

Why should I get veneers?

Veneers offer a natural-looking solution for broken, crooked, or misshapen teeth. They offer these benefits, too:

  • Stain resistance

  • Little gum irritation

  • Can lighten darker teeth

  • Look great with no invasive dental work

  • Strengthen teeth

  • Cheaper than other dental treatments such as crowns
